Ultherapy is one of the most requested lifting treatments at GetSkin, and one of the most asked-about. Clients want to know how it works, whether it hurts, and what results actually look like. This guide answers all three, with before-and-after photos from our Hallandale Beach clinic and a video from a real client filmed right after her treatment.
Ultherapy is a non-surgical lifting treatment that uses micro-focused ultrasound to deliver energy deep beneath the skin, without cutting or breaking the surface. It reaches the SMAS layer, the same foundational layer a surgeon tightens during a facelift, along with the deeper layers of the skin above it.
The energy creates tiny, precise heat points in the tissue. Your body responds by producing new collagen, which gradually lifts and firms the treated areas. Ultherapy is FDA-cleared to lift the eyebrow, lift skin on the neck and under the chin, and improve lines and wrinkles on the chest (décolleté).
What sets Ultherapy apart is built-in ultrasound imaging. Your practitioner can see the tissue layers on screen during treatment, so energy goes exactly where it should.
Ultherapy works best for people with mild to moderate skin laxity who want a natural-looking lift without surgery. It’s a great fit if you’re noticing:
It’s also popular with clients in their late 30s and 40s who want to get ahead of aging, and with those maintaining results after a surgical facelift. Severe sagging is usually better addressed surgically, and a consultation will tell you honestly which camp you’re in.
Elba, a GetSkin client, recorded her thoughts minutes after her Ultherapy session. At 43, she came in for a consultation because aging in her neck and lower face had become a concern, and our team recommended Ultherapy.
Like many first-timers, she was worried about discomfort. Her verdict: “It was totally fine.” She described the sensation as a tingling as the energy is delivered, and said it was easier to tolerate than Morpheus8, which she’d had before.
“Now I’m looking forward to seeing my results.” — Elba
Most clients feel warmth and a deep tingling or prickling sensation in short bursts as each line of energy is delivered. Bony areas, like along the jawline, tend to be the most noticeable. The sensation stops as soon as the pulse ends.
Comfort is very individual. Your practitioner will talk through comfort options with you during your consultation and can adjust settings during treatment. Many clients, like Elba in our video, find it far more manageable than they expected.
Most people need just one treatment. Clients with more laxity may benefit from a second session.
These before-and-after photos are from treatments at our clinic. Several “after” photos were taken immediately post-treatment, which is why you may notice some redness. The full lift continues to develop over the following 2–3 months.

Both treatments tighten skin without surgery, but they work differently. Ultherapy uses ultrasound to lift from the deepest layer without breaking the skin, making it ideal for brows, jowls, and the neck. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency, which also improves surface texture, scars, and pores. Many clients combine the two. Read our full comparison: Morpheus8 vs Ultherapy.
No. You may have temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness, but you can return to work and normal activities the same day.
Most clients need one treatment. Some benefit from a second session, depending on the amount of laxity.
Some clients notice a subtle difference right away, but the real lift builds over 2–3 months as new collagen forms.
Pricing depends on the areas treated, so we quote it during your consultation. Ask about our payment plans.
